Victor Okoro

Victor Okoro is an economist and development researcher with over five years of lecturing experience and a strong
commitment to evidence-based policy and inclusive growth. He holds a First-Class Honours degree in Banking and Finance,
as well as graduate degrees in Finance and Economics from the University of Ottawa, where he is currently completing his
PhD. His academic and professional work centers on development economics, public finance, and impact evaluation, with a
focus on designing policies that improve socio-economic outcomes.


He currently serves as a Research Assistant working with restricted microdata on a project examining the effects of
environmental policies and legislation on the socio-economic well-being of affected individuals. Through this work, Victor
contributes rigorous analysis that helps inform policy decisions and strengthen institutional effectiveness.
Beyond research, Victor brings strong leadership experience to his advisory role. He is the incumbent President of the
Graduate Economics Students Association at the University of Ottawa, where he leads student representation and strategic
initiatives within the academic community. Passionate about youth empowerment, financial literacy, and sustainable
development, he is committed to supporting initiatives that equip individuals and communities with the tools needed for  long-term social and economic transformation.
