Seniors Tales At Sunset (STAS)

Seniors Tales At Sunset (STAS) is an intergenerational storytelling and learning initiative by Emerging Lives Initiative.  

 

In a world growing so rapidly, people are being interconnected and in this present day, we find that youth and their ability to strive in certain surroundings is limited because the educational system hasn't really provided the skills necessary to engage politely and effectively across cultural boundaries. 

 

The chance to develop empathy, flexibility and communication skills in schools have been lost to an extent hence the need for this  program.

 

STAS will create a platform for seniors to share their rich lived experiences in career, business or any field of endeavour with youth in Canada, passing on valuable lessons and insights. 

 

In turn, the youth will engage with seniors by teaching them practical modern skills such as but not limited to how to use smartphones, navigate technology, and stay safe from online scams.

 

STAS fosters mutual learning, respect, and meaningful connection across generations, empowering both seniors and youth to grow through shared knowledge and experience.
