Sharon Temitayo is a passionate fundraising professional and community advocate based in Ottawa, Ontario, with over five years of experience mobilizing resources for causes rooted in equity, dignity, and social change. She currently serves as an Officer, Philanthropy at Shepherds of Good Hope Foundation, where she channels her deep commitment to justice into creating meaningful impact for some of the community's most vulnerable members.
Sharon's journey into community work began long before her professional career. Armed with a Bachelor of Science in Social Justice from Nigeria, she gave her time and energy to various organizations in her home country before making the move to Canada. Upon arriving, she found a community that welcomed and supported her — and she wasted no time giving back, volunteering at Shepherds of Good Hope and the Ottawa Mission. Those early experiences planted the seeds for what has become a lifelong calling. She went on to earn a Master of Arts in Feminist and Gender Studies, deepening her understanding of the systemic barriers that hold women, youth, and marginalized communities back from thriving.
At the heart of everything Sharon does is a firm belief that education, community, and mentorship are not privileges — they are necessities. She is driven by a vision of a world where women are free from oppression, children have access to quality education and opportunity, and every person has the support they need to realize their full potential. She brings this purpose and conviction to her role on the Advisory Board of Emerging Lives Initiative, where she looks forward to contributing her lived experience, cross-cultural perspective, and advocacy lens to programs that uplift youth, women, seniors, and newcomers across Canada.
